This isn’t classic and stylistically I prefer the 2010 but with that said

full and sleekly muscled flavors are sappy

(two-thirds of the vines were planted in 1912 and the remainder in 1973)

with plentiful fine-grained tannins that firm up on the long finish

Bellevue Mondotte Vintage:2013 pure kirschRuby red. Roasted plum, toffee, game and nutty oak on the nose. Lush, fat and stuffed with fruit. A wonderfully pliant 2002 with noteworthy density and richness. Sound acids and suave but firm edged tannins give this excellent balance. Finishes very long and ripe. This is even stronger than it appeared to be from barrel last spring. Stephen Tanzer
